Ask for Pledges
Getting pledges is great way to engage people in your cause and helping them take action to support you.
Ideas & Tips
- If people want to give you a donation instead of pledging that’s OK!
- Let people know when and how you’ll be gathering their donation when everything is done.
- The more challenging you make your activity the easier it will be to get pledges.
- Ask friends to join you and get their own pledges
- Turn it into a competition against another team or class
How It Plays Out
- Decide on what activity you’ll be doing (laps on a track, pushups, hiking, running, burpees, downward dogs, miles of beach you’ll clean up etc.)
- Decide how many you’ll be doing AND the amount of time you’ll be doing it (ex: 10 pushups a day for 10 days OR walking laps around a track for 12 hours OR miles of beach you’ll clean up in a day)
- Decide how much you’ll ask for the activity (ex: 50 cents per pushup OR 50 cents per lap) and connect it to how it helps your cause. (ex: $5 donation will do XX)
- Do the math for your donors and give them choices to make it easy for them to decide (25 cents/ pushup = $25 donation; 50 cents/pushup = $50 donation; $1/pushup = $100 donation
- Create an online form or use a simple piece of paper with clear instructions about pledge amounts and how, when and where they can donate.
