HOW IT GOES DOWN:

  • Collect an entry fee from each person or team.
  • Teams can vary in size depending on the size of your location. Floor Hockey teams are generally 3v3. You can even hold a one-on-one knee hockey tourney in a living room.
  • Designate a specific amount of time for the game to last, especially if you have more than one game going on.
  • Cheer everyone on!

THE RULES
Rules of Knee Hockey and Floor Hockey are similar to ice hockey and are designed to keep the game fun and fair.

KNEE HOCKEY

  1. No slashing, high sticking or cross checking
  2. Players may use their hands was well as sticks when coming into contact with the puck.
  3. Icing–hitting the puck from one end of the rink to the other–is allowed in mini hockey.
  4. One point is scored for each goal.
  5. Breaking a tie: If at the end of regulation play the score is tied, a five-minute sudden death two-on-two period is played. Two-on-two play means that two players from each team are selected during the sudden death period instead of the three that are allowed during regular play. The first team to score wins. If no team scores, the game is recorded as a tie.
