GET ORGANIZED:

Get started with our Week-By-Week Event Planner to make your life easy.

If you’re a Team Captain, check out our toolkit that’s designed just for you and provides answers about your role as a leader.

Make a list of everything that needs to get done and by whom with our Timeline Planner. Or use a free online planner like, Trello.

YOU’LL NEED:

  1. A large field in a safe location away from two-way traffic and parking lots.
  2. Table for registration
  3. If you have multiple teams, then you’ll need to create a bracket. Here’s a tool to help with that.
  4. If you are hosting a contest of individuals, set a number of goals the player needs to score to win OR set a time limit, and the player with the most goals when time runs out wins!
  5. Soccer balls- at least two per team. One to spin around, and one to shoot.
  6. Goals
  7. Designated counters
  8. Prizes
  9. Video camera to document the craziness that is about to ensue!

HOW IT GOES DOWN:

  • Collect an entry fee from each person/team.
  • Designate each team/individual to the goal they will be shooting on.
  • If you have a number of teams competing, designate a specific amount of time for each game. Remember, it takes a while to spin around the ball 10 times so be generous with the length of each game.
  • Keep track of the goals!
  • HAVE FUN & GET SWEATY!

DAY-OF ORGANIZATION:

Check out our Day-Of Event Checklist so that your event is stress free and FUN.

THE RULES:

  1. Make sure each soccer ball that will be shot is 12 yards from the goal (You’ll want to use spray paint to mark this out before the event starts).
  2. The ball the players are spinning around should be placed 18 yards from goal.
  3. Rock, Paper, Scissors to see which team/individual goes first.
  4. When it is time to shoot, each player must place one hand on the soccer ball located 18 yards from goal.
  5. They must spin around the ball 10 full rotations (Designated counter OR opposing team/individual counts out loud to keep the ball spinner honest!).
  6. Once 10 rotations are complete, player runs to the ball at the 12 yard spot and shoots on the empty goal. If you want to make it even more challenging, throw a goalkeeper in net and make him/her do ball spins also!
