Challenge Captain Code of Conduct

As a Captain, you’re stepping into a leadership role that uplifts causes, builds community, and reflects Positive Tracks’ values. We’re here to support you, and we ask that you uphold the spirit of Positive Tracks as you lead your Challenge.

At Positive Tracks, we see the Coach-Captain relationship as a partnership, one built on mutual respect, shared learning, and collaboration. We work with each other, not above each other.

Positive Tracks’ Commitment to You

At Positive Tracks, we’re not just asking you to show up, we’re showing up with you. Here’s what we’re investing in to support your leadership and make your Challenge a success:

Personalized Coaching & Support

  • One-on-one coaching to help you brainstorm, plan, problem-solve, and grow. Your coach will help you navigate things like the starter fund application, budgeting, fundraising and registration pages, the Positive Tracks Portal and more.
  • A supportive coach who listens, guides, and celebrates your wins.

Funding & Resources

Access to starter funds and matching funds to bring your Challenge to life.

Communication With Intention

  • We commit to communicating in a timely, transparent, and respectful way.
  • We’ll keep you informed of updates or changes as early as possible.

Respect, Leadership & Growth

  • As a nonprofit with a mission of honoring the youth and young adults we serve, we believe in the power of young people and will respect you regardless of age, experience, or background.
  • We value honesty, vulnerability, and learning from mistakes because growth is part of leadership.
  • We welcome your ideas, feedback, and voice.

Brave, Inclusive Spaces

  • We work to create spaces where you can show up as your full self, speak up, and take healthy risks.
  • We welcome feedback with humility and clarity and we promise to listen, learn, and respond with care.

Your Commitment as a Captain

By taking part in a Positive Tracks Challenge, you agree to:

  • Not having all the answers is normal. We’re here to help you!
  • Share your story and celebrate your wins with us! We are here to celebrate YOU!

What Happens If There Are Concerns?

Leading a Challenge can bring up questions about planning, fundraising, organizing, or even your cause itself and that’s okay! That’s exactly why Positive Tracks provides coaching. Your coach is here to help you brainstorm, problem-solve, build confidence, and make sure your Challenge reflects our shared vision and values.

If you ever feel stuck or unsure, or if something comes up that doesn’t align with Positive Tracks’ values, reach out. We’re here to support you, listen, and work together on a plan.
