Spreading the word about your event and advocating for your cause are KEY! 

Canva, PicMonkey and Adobe Spark are free online resources that make creating a poster or flyer easy with templates and art work built in. You can also keep it simple and use Microsoft Word or PowerPoint.

TOP TIPS: 

  1. Consider what you want people to KNOW, to FEEL and to DO.
  2. Make it easy to read from a distance
  3. Be as concise as possible. Ask yourself~ What information does someone need to know to do what you’re asking of them
  4. Include pictures!
  5. If you’re supporting an organization, include their website, logo and brief mission
  6. Add contact information for questions
  7. Add a Call to Action – what do you want people to do? Sign up, donate, learn more.
  8. Add a QR code so that people can easily sign up or learn more. Here’s a link to a free QR code generator.
  9. Add a Positive Tracks logo
  10. Add Positive Tracks language to your poster: Our partner, Positive Tracks teaches us how to sweat for good and doubles dollars for (add cause or organization)!
  11. Include bold headers to make it easy for people to digest:
    • Title of Event
    • Date
    • Time
    • Location
    • Who’s Invited
    • Why You’re Doing This
