SHARING ON SOCIAL MEDIA

Here’s a sample story that you can use to announce your effort. Obviously, you’ll want to add your own effort and make this sound like you!

Hi everyone! I’m taking on a Burpee Challenge and will be doing ten burpees for every $1 I raise. I’m doing all of these burpees to raise awareness and funds for Smith Children’s Hospital. My goal is to raise $100 and do 1,000 burpees, but I need your help to get me there. I’ll be sharing vids of my burpees and all the dollars I raise will go to support essential medical needs for children and families. Also, I’m partnering with Positive Tracks, an organization that teaches young people how to sweat for good. In addition to supporting me, they’ll also be doubling dollars for my Burpee Challenge up to $100!

SHARING IN AN EMAIL

Check out this sample email that Mason wrote for her dodgeball tournament:

I’ve taken on a Positive Tracks Challenge for Chicuchas Wasi School for Girls in Cusco, Peru and will be hosting and participating in a dodgeball tournament in Hanover with my good friend Kristen Hinckley. The funds that we raise together will go towards paying for transportation for the school. Although Chicuchas Wasi is a school rich with love and support, one of their most pressing needs is for a consistent and reliable bus system. We hope to change this.

Kristen and I are extending the impact of our efforts by partnering with Positive Tracks – an organization that teaches young people how to sweat for good. They’ve played a hugely important role in helping me organize my event and spread the word and fundraise for Chicuchas Wasi. Positive Tracks will double the dollars we raise up to $100!

Through my effort, I hope to raise at least $400 and valuable awareness for the Chicuchas Wasi School for Girls. It feels great to stay involved with a place as special as Chicuchas Wasi. As I finish my first year at college, I continue to appreciate the educational opportunities I’ve been provided my entire life and hope to share this with others. It is incredible to be making a difference using my own sweat, and I hope you’ll consider supporting me.

Here’s how you can get involved. (You can customize the sections below when you ask local business or companies to support you)

  1. You can donate to my fundraising page and support my personal fundraising efforts as a team captain.
  2. Play in the tournament! Bring $10 on the day of or fundraise online beforehand! (see below)
  3. Create your own fundraising page and reach out to your friends to support your fundraising goals.
  4. Stay updated on the happenings at Chicuchas Wasi

If you can’t make a donation at this point, help me reach my goal by sharing this on social media or by forwarding this email.

THANK YOU for your support of me and this incredible cause.

Sincerely,

Mason
