buy provigil.com Olympic skier and Broadcast Analyst for NBC Universal Sports, Doug Lewis, and his crew of energetic youngsters recently completed the ELITEAM 100, 000 Burpee Challenge in support of Positive Tracks.

Why Burpees?

Because they’re tough. Check out Doug’s Demo here.  After ten, you’ll know why 125 a day is a big deal. You gotta be motivated to get these suckers done!

Over the course of four ELITEAM camp sessions, the grand Burpee total hit, and then surpassed, Doug’s 100,000 Burpee goal. Each camper did an extra 100 Burpees on the final day of camp to score a $1057 bonus from a generous supporter who pledged to give one dime per Burpee.

That brought the Grand Total to—drumroll please— 105,700 Burpees and $6,122 for Positive Tracks!

Doug tells us how they got there:  “We did 125 a day with 50 campers for 6,250 day. Some we spread out throughout the entire day. One day, we did all 125 in 30 min! Some were variations: Lunge Burpees, Skiers Burpees, Karate Burpees, Break-dance Burpees! In the last session when it got really hot we took to the river for Slurpee Burpees.”

Check out the Burpees from ELITEAMers and all those who supported the 100K effort:

Impressive? Yep. We thought so, especially because half of these Burpees were executed by young guns, ELITEAM “Europa Cup” campers – as young as eight years old. The other half were contributed by “World Cup” campers, age 11-14. Best part is: these kids kept smiles on their faces throughout the challenge!

The theme at ELITEAM this year was “jumping out of your comfort zone” – stuff like sand-pit slalom runs, and singing in front of the whole group. Hammering out 100,000 Burpees certainly pushed campers wayyyy out of their comfort zones.

If you’re contemplating jumping out of your own comfort zone, here’s a nudge!
