Story adapted from Big City Mountaineers July 17, 2015 newsletter.

Today marks the first Backpacker Magazine Summit for Someone climb of the 2015 season for Big City Moutaineers! 12 climbers, including Backpacker Editor in Chief Dennis Lewon, and their guides from Jackson Hole Mountain Guides are headed out on the trail today and barring inclement weather will be standing on the summit of the Grand this Sunday! Not only is this climb special because it is the first of four Backpacker hosted climbs, but it is also the very first climb with our partner Positive Tracks!

Four climbers on the team are under 23, which means everything they have raised will be doubled by a generous grant from Positive Tracks. Currently, this climb team has raised over $40,000 for Big City Mountaineers youth mentoring programs. With the Positive Tracks match, this total will grow to $60,000! This fundraising total is enough to cover six fully outfitted expeditions thanks to the efforts of Backpacker, our SFS climbers, and the support of Positive Tracks.
